A possible avenue of exploration could be to have the illustrations tied to mechandising/clothing. Dress sense and music are related, each genre tends to have a certain image that it's fans adhere to. However, this probably isn't a particularly original idea in and of itself, merchandising is very big nowadays anyway.

These are Diesel clothings for express its style of wearing and design. I thought these were just a mark that I realise and excited to discover that they sell so many other lines of clothing, dresses, jumpers and jackets and even bags.
